Hello! My name is Sandy, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have been a huge animal lover all my life having everything from rats, birds, rabbits, snakes, ducks, pigs, horses, etc…you name it I have probably owned it or still do! I love training dogs and currently show my dogs in UKC conformation shows and am training a few for competition obedience. I am a huge advocate for positive reinforcement dog training and in 2016 after 2 years of studying I graduated from The Academy for Dog Trainers receiving my CTC (which can be seen below).

I love to learn about the health and genetics of dogs, especially shepherds. I have a passion for learning how to understand dogs both in mind and body. Rose was *my* first shepherd, the one who started it all. I got her when I was just 14 years old and even at that early age I knew that German Shepherds were the breed for me. Rose crossed to the rainbow bridge in 2014 but I am happy to say that I have granddaughters, great granddaughters and now great-great granddaughters of hers to carry on her legacy. In my spare time besides all the doggie stuff I love riding horses, traveling, baking & spending time with my family. Before we moved out of California I was a volunteer for the Yuba County Mounted Sheriff's Posse Search & Rescue and hope to peruse something similar here in South Carolina!

In the spring of 2019 I welcomed my first child in to the world! He is already an animal lover like me and he adores all the dogs & puppies. They are always by his side following him around wherever he goes! I feel very blessed to have him in my life, he brings me so much joy.

These dogs are our lives…24/7, 365 days a year! Every day begins and ends with the dogs but we truly wouldn’t have it any other way. Our family has been owned by German Shepherds since 1996, however our family has never been without a dog in the house. Before having shepherds we were owned by various mixed breed dogs who were usually rescued from the pound.

From California to South Carolina
I was born & raised in California. In June of 2013 we made the move from the Elk Grove area up to a little town near Marysville called Loma Rica where we lived for 8 years. We had a beautiful home & facility but after evacuating several times due to fires we started to think about moving. Seeking a new state to raise my son in we made a trip to South Carolina as it was at the top of our list of places to move and we absolutely fell in love! Through a series of almost miraculous events and the help of some amazing people we were able to purchase the house of our dreams in July of 2021! It was quite an adventure moving across the country with a toddler and all our dogs & farm animals but somehow we did it. We have 15 acres, 2 houses (my parents live in the other) and a beautiful set up for the dogs. We absolutely love our new place and so do the dogs!

The slideshow below is mostly our old place but I am slowly gathering up pictures of our new place. In addition to our dogs we 2 miniature Donkeys (Summer & Cheyenne), Mike the mini pig, Spike the 100lb Sulcata Tortoise, a water turtle, 2 geckos, 3 cats and some chickens & guineas!
